Ingredients
Ingredients
60g (2oz) vegan butter
80g (3oz) sugar
1 tsp dried active yeast
300g (10.5oz) white bread flour
60g (2oz) sultanas
30g (1oz) mixed peel
2 tsp mixed spice
1 tbsp agave syrup
2 tbsp plain flour
1 tbsp water
How to prepare
Preheat the oven to 200°C/400°F/Gas 6 first. Allow the heated milk, melted butter, sugar, and yeast to settle for 2-3 minutes. Mix in the flour, sultanas, mixed peel, and mixed spice to make a dough. Place the dough on a floured surface and knead for 5-6 minutes.
Put the dough in a covered bowl and leave it in a warm area for 30 minutes until doubled in size. After the dough has proven, knead it for 3-4 minutes on a floured surface.
Divide the dough into 6 pieces and form it into balls. Area the dough balls on a prepared baking sheet and let them rise in a warm place for 30 minutes, or until doubled in size. Using a pastry brush, coat the tops with the agave syrup.
Make the cross by combining simple flour and water. Fill a piping bag with the ingredients and pipe a cross onto the buns. Cook for 20 minutes in the oven.
