Caribbean Black Bean and Mango Wraps with Jamaican Jerk Jackfruit

Wraps made with Jamaican Jerk Jackfruit, Caribbean Black Bean, and mango. These burritos contain shredded jerk jackfruit, black beans, mango, and cucumbers. Serve as wraps, sandwiches, or in a dish. Soy-free recipe. Gluten-free with gluten-free wraps.

Ingredients:

566 g (20 oz) tin of green jack fruit

2 tsp oil split

1.5 grams of powder

1 gram of onion powder

1 g of thyme

1 ml of parsley

1/2 tsp (0.5 tsp) salt

1 tsp paprika

0.5 to 0.75 g cayenne

1/4 to 1/2 milligram of pepper

A generous amount of cinnamon, nutmeg, and mixed spices.

1 tsp or more lime juice

2 cups (500 ml) of liquid

a quarter to half teaspoon of or another sweetener

Caribbean Beans, Black:

1 tsp oil

1/2 cup (80 grams) of minced onion

2 cloves finely chopped

1 15-ounce (425-gram) can or 1.5 cups cooked black

1/4 tsp (0.25 tsp) (0.25 tsp) all spice

1/2 tsp (0.5 tsp) (0.5 tsp) thyme

1/4 tsp (0.25 tsp) (0.25 tsp) cayenne

Depending on the beans, 1/2 milligram (0.5 milligram) of salt, or to taste

1.5 tbsp orange juice or 2 tsp lemon juice plus a quarter teaspoon of

1/4 cup (62.5 ml) of liquid

Other augmentations:

Mango, cucumbers or pickles diced and chopped

or baby leafy greens

salt pepper, lemon or lime juice

voluminous tortilla wraps

How to prepare:

Jamaican jerk Jackfruit:

Drain and wash the thoroughly. Utilizing a paper napkin, firmly press the jackfruit chunks to extract the liquid. Shred in a food processor or slice thinly by hand. (For additional flavor, marinate the shredded jackfruit in the spices, herbs, and lime juice in the refrigerator for an hour or overnight. then cook with water) Heat 1 tsp oil over medium heat in a skillet. Add the shredded jackfruit and all of the dry spices (or 1.5 tablespoons or more of readymade Jamaican jerk seasoning). Cook for two to three minutes, or until the spices smell toasted.

Add lime juice, water, and sugar, and simmer for 25 to 30 minutes while partially covered. Stir periodically.

Once the mixture is dry, adjust the salt and heat to taste. Add the 1 tsp of oil and continue to roast the until part of its edges are golden brown. This can be served as wraps, sandwiches, tacos, and nachos.

Make the Caribbean-style:

Heat oil in a skillet over medium heat. Cook the onions and until transparent. 4-5 mins.

Simmer the black beans, seasonings, water, and orange or lime juice for ten minutes. Stir periodically.

Wrap the meat:

Black beans, cilantro or chopped baby greens, a generous portion of jerk jackfruit, cucumber and mango, lemon juice, salt and pepper. Fold ingredients into a tortilla and serve.
