Ziggy Marley, the son of iconic reggae artist Bob Marley, recently launched a line of CBD products exclusively for dogs. Marley and brand One Farm joint ventured to create the line, called “Ziggy Marley Apawthecary”.

The first released product is Romeo's Agility Chews, a cannabinoid (CBD)-infused supplement to help dogs' prolonged agility, fight possible inflammations, and support their mental and physical wellness. The chews are made with organic ingredients that include , cordyceps fungus,  turmeric and flavored with a light peanut butter taste.

Marley got his inspiration to create the wellness line after his family adopted a new puppy named Romeo last year. Unable to tour due to the , the singer, musician, and eight-time Grammy Award winner spent almost every day with Romeo and they instantly developed a special bond.

Since Romeo's breed has a high activity level, Marley wanted to make sure his health and wellness were maintained, especially his joint . Romeo was also the inspiration for Marley writing a children's book, My Dog Romeo, and a pretty catchy song of the same name.

Why joint health?

Marley met the creators of One Farm, after being introduced by a mutual friend, One Farm manufactures plant-based products with organic ingredients sourced directly from the people who grow them.

Marley said in a statement.

“Nature has always played a major role in my life,” “I was drawn to One Farm because of their use of whole-plant ingredients and their commitment to quality, sustainability, and transparency. “

“Health is incredibly important to me. Playing soccer almost every day, my knees have felt the impact over the years. When I saw how active Romeo was as a puppy, I knew I needed to take care of his joint health now, to help prevent problems in the long run.”

One Farm HQ is in Austin, TX and they have been manufacturing botanical wellness products for companion animals since 2017. One Farm CEO and founder Scott Cusack said he was thrilled to work with Ziggy because he shares the passion for quality, nature, and sustainability as well as a desire to help us increase the well-being of pets and their owners.

Ziggy Marley Apawthecary Wellness line plans to introduce many wellness products in the future, including Romeo's CBD Oil, to help reduce anxiety levels in companion animals and as a food additive to support hip and joint health.

Marley is not the only celebrity to promote CBD for its wellness benefits. Last year, musician and longtime vegan Travis Barker—drummer of iconic band blink-182—launched Barker Wellness, actress Kristen Bell got into the vegan body-care business with the launch of her CBD-infused brand Happy Dance.
