Jason Momoa has launched two limited-edition vegan sneakers made from algae.

The Aquaman star created the shoes together with the brand “So iLL” as part of the On The Roam collection.

The sneakers are made from various materials including organic cotton and cork. Besides, the Unity Purple and Yaya Lavender Roamers are made with biodegradable outsoles and insoles made from algae.

The outsoles are better for the environment because they help reduce decomposition time when they react with microbes in landfills, both patterns of the designs feature Momoa’s triangular patterned tattoos.

In addition to his vegan sneakers, Momoa launched his own line of canned water, Mananalu. The brand was created to reduce the amount of plastics bottles dropped into the ocean and the cans are made of recycled aluminum.

Momoa isn’t vegan himself but has spoken about animal rights on numerous occasions.
