This is one of my favorite recipes for a snack to have with drinks. Hyssop known in the Middle East as Za’atar is a spice blended with sesame seeds and oregano, rosemary, thyme, and salt.
100g strawberries and berries hulled and chopped (optional)
150g mixed nuts e.g. walnuts, almonds, pecans, cashews
25g mixed seeds e.g. sunflower, pumpkin
1 tsp olive oil
2 tsp za’atar
How to prepare
Preheat the oven to 200°C and line a baking tray with parchment. Spread the strawberries out into a single layer and bake for 15 mins until slightly dehydrated. Set aside to cool.
Spread the nuts and seeds in a single layer on another tray, drizzle with the oil, and roast for 5 minutes. Remove from the oven, mix well with the za’atar. Cool then stir in the strawberries.
