On their first official interview conceded to a medium, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle introduced Oprah Winfrey to the chickens they rescued from a factory farm as part of the exciting interview the “O” Channel released this week.
Winfrey was invited to their luxurious mansion in Montecito, CA where they recently moved last summer after abandoning the royal family with their one-year-old son Archie.
The rescued chickens reside in a hutch with a sign that reads “Archie’s Chick Inn, Established 2021.
While they visited with the rescued chickens, Markle and Harry explained that their departure from the royal family was the result of bullying by British tabloid media and continued racism perpetuated by palace courtesans. In one instance Markle spoke about an unnamed palace insider who expressed concern over baby Archie’s skin tone before his birth in 2019.
Markle explained that she thought about suicide by the bullying and racist comments. During the interview, she also revealed she is pregnant with a baby girl, her second child, and said the family’s move to California is “greater than any fairytale you’ve ever read,” adding that their new life allows her to get “back down to the basics” and “live authentically.”
Is Meghan Markle vegan?
Well, we do not know for certain that Markle is vegan, she is a known advocate of sustainable living. When she was a full-time actress on the television series Suits, she once told the magazine Best Health: “When I’m filming, I’m conscious of what I eat. I try to eat vegan during the week and then have a little bit more flexibility with what I dig into on the weekends.”
The Duchess has also revolutionized the Royals with her ethical wardrobe, by choosing to appear publicly in faux fur and vegan leather, including Adidas’ vegan Stan Smith X Stella McCartney sneakers she was spotted wearing on a royal tour of New Zealand’s eco-conscious Abel Tasman National Park.
In December 2020, Markle made her first investment after leaving the Royal Family in Clevr Brands, a woman-owned vegan latte company that donates a portion of its proceeds to support food security and racial justice.
During the holidays, Markle sent Winfrey—who also resides in Montecito—a gift basket filled with Clevr’s’ vegan lattes, which the media mogul praised on her social media accounts.
